Another tutorial from "Flash MX 2004 Games Most Wanted", except this time I added a bit of my own touches (yay i'm able to modify things without a book telling me how!)
A really simple game of Billiards, or Pool. get all the balls in the pockets (the 6 holes on the sides). try not to get the black ball in until last. I couldn't figure out how to make it reset if you put the black ball in early... or once all balls are in the pockets... but it's still entertaining... or time consuming at least. if you 'scratch' (hit the white ball into a pocket) it will reset itself back in it's initial place, if there's a ball there, it'll go flying. hehe. if you hit all the balls into the pockets, righ-click (cmd-click for all you mac users) and hit back, that should reset everything.... if not, reload the page.
Instructions:
hold down left click to shoot.
get all balls into the pockets.
Ha! Sweet. This is very good, although I wish shots meant something... Even if it was just the whole concept of "black ball in, except when last, you lose"
the only way i can think of to add another player would be to make half the balls one color and the other half another color, and then the two of you just play until one wins. I can't think of how to make it determine a winner... without revamping a lot of the game....
Or maybe... the real rules of billiards. I wanted to comment about the math and physics of this, since I know all of the required equations except for maybe spin, but I suspect by now you're much better. Do you have any pieces from your gallery you'd recommend I look at?
.........i'll think about it...........
