....yeah, the basic game of Pong, I was working on a different game, but i hit a snag and someone mentioned that i should make pong... so here it is!
It's not flawless, but i didn't get any help from my book or anything (yes i'm bragging so what )
i know it can't really hold much of a candle to my other games but i'm proud of it none the less!
the object of the game is to keep the ball from hitting your paddles side of the court (in other words, the edge of the gameboard behind your paddle)
oh, and when you do score, it won't be added until you put the ball back into play.
in final, i know it's pretty basic and very asthetically pleasing, but my goal was to make an actionscript game that worked without help
instructions
put the ball in/back in to play:
left-click
red paddle movements:
"W" = up
"S" = down
blue paddle movements:
up arrow = up
down arrow = down
That's pretty cool beans, my only complaint is that the ball follows the same path in a repeating pattern. You can't make it slow down, speed up, or spin it. But I'd imagine that's some complicated scripting.
as for it's starting path, depending on who scores, depends on the direction it starts at, but yeah... the pattern is the same each time... i guess i could Math.Random() the angle it starts at...
as for the speed, it increases by score... the equasion for speed is 6+score(1 or 2 depending on who scored last)/2
i guess i could change the fraction... but it actually does speed up as the scores get higher.
i'll see about making changes though, thanks for the input
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
